Once a week, Mrs. Johnson plays the piano and leads bell ringers for the residents at the Kensington. Mrs. Dee Westeveron assists and plays the violin with them. Many of the residents love to see and hear their favorite hymns and songs from the past. She and her husband Terry have three grown daughters and three grandchildren. |
Mrs. Johnson is the 1st grade teacher at GCS. She has been in Christian Education for many years and at GCS since the beginning. She is very involved in church and community activities, including Good News Clubs and DAR. Mrs. Johnson has a passion for promoting spititual and patriotic causes. Impersonating Mary "Mother Bickerdyke" is one of the famous programs she does for the public and has been doing so since 2004. Other impersonations that she does include Ella Parke Lawrence; the Mother of the Illinois flag and Fany Crosby; the hymn writer. Evangelizing children and witnessing for the Lord is woven into her programs and into her life.
